Jumeirah Piano Studio was founded by Electra Karanasiu and Graciela Garcia — two lives devoted to music, culture, and the art of learning.
“All my life, I have searched for authenticity — not in landmarks, but in the quiet soul of places. Across five continents, I sought the enduring rhythm of cultures, the craftsmanship of their traditions, and the creative heritage that time cannot erase. This salon is where those journeys finally come to rest.”
Jumeirah Piano Studio is the vision of Electra Karanasiu — a space created not as a commercial venture, but as a deeply personal expression of a lifelong devotion to culture, discovery, and artistic heritage.
That journey began in childhood. Classical ballet, the precision of flamenco, the elegance of ballroom dance, and the discipline of classical piano formed its foundation. Alongside music came fine art, equestrian training, pottery, and a lifelong love of literature, each nurturing a different way of observing, creating, and understanding the world.
Over the years, travel became a continuation of that education. Having explored more than fifty-five countries, Electra sought not the spectacle of destinations but their essence: the traditions, craftsmanship, artistic legacies, and quiet stories that define a culture from within.
Jumeirah Piano Studio is the natural expression of that lifelong pursuit. Conceived as a modern interpretation of the great European salons, it is a place where music, conversation, craftsmanship, and culture coexist with quiet elegance.
“For me, music has always been both a discipline and a form of expression — a lifelong journey of learning, performing, teaching, and discovering the many ways in which music can connect us.”
Graciela's lifelong dedication to music was shaped by a classical education in Cuba and years of experience as both a musician and educator. Her journey began with piano and flute at an early age and continued at the National School of Music in Havana, where she graduated as an Instrumentalist and Professor.
Her career developed naturally between performance and education. She worked as a principal and first flute with municipal concert bands in Villa Clara while also teaching flute, piano, solfeggio, and music theory.
Music later took her beyond Cuba. From performing and teaching in India to establishing her professional life in Dubai, each experience has added a different perspective to her understanding of music and education. Since 2022, she has continued her work in Dubai as a piano and flute teacher.
For Graciela, teaching is not simply about learning an instrument. It is about developing musicality, confidence, discipline, and an individual voice. Her experience as a performer allows her to bring the perspective of a working musician into every lesson, while her background as an educator keeps the learning process structured, personal, and inspiring.
Jumeirah Piano Studio brings these experiences together in a space dedicated to music as both an art and a lifelong journey — where classical foundations meet creativity, and where every student is encouraged to discover their own relationship with music.
